The Best Classic Films of the Twentieth Century

The Best Classic Films of the Twentieth Century

A list of the best movies of the twentieth century would have to include:

“Citizen Kane” (1941), a biographical story of fictional tycoon Charles Foster Kane. Orson Welles, the director, created a heightened sense of reality here with original camera angles and lighting effects. Does Taken 2 Go Above and Beyond?

Taken was a gritty, hard-hitting action mystery starring Liam Neeson. As the story goes, Bryan (Liam Neeson) receives a disturbing phone call when his daughter is abducted by slave traffickers while staying in Europe. From there it’s an adrenaline-filled ride through darkness and violence where Liam, powered by the father’s need to protect his family, blurs the line between hero and villain.

So what does Taken 2 bring to the table?

Not a whole lot that we didn’t already see in the first film.

The problem with Taken 2 is that the only thing it takes away from the first installment is the action. Gone are the harsh commentaries regarding human trafficking and “decent people” being involved and, instead, the focus is almost entirely on Liam Neeson fighting people.

It becomes a little improbable when he’s dispatching groups of four or five assailants who, apparently, never thought a gun would be a decent thing to bring. It is less of a story and more of a series of action scenes which is fine if that’s what you’re into.

Taken 2 isn’t really a bad film but it’s not really remarkable or very interesting like its predecessor. A good idea would be to click here find out how you can get all those in-demand movie channels and just wait for it to surface.
